A Tribute to Champ by his loving doggie mom Joanne

“Champ came to us in Jan 2011 to heal from a gunshot wound. Champ was a drug dealer's dog and was shot in a drug raid. Amster Dog Rescue raised money to save his life and he had to have his shattered scapular replaced with a butterfly pin and 19 screws to save his right leg. He was only 2 years old when this happened to him. Champ enjoyed a much loved and pampered 10+ years living with us. He was a challenge with his not trusting men, and we can all understand why. But he performed a miracle when he bit my son and because he did that, the doctor discovered that my son had cancer. If Champ didn't bite him, he may not have survived. We worked through his fearful aggression and he turned around with a lot of love and understanding on all of our part. He had a wonderful life with us. We included him in everything, he went for daily long walks in Port Jeff Village and some of the local parks. He had beds in his special spots all over my house, and he had a big back yard to run and chase squirrels in. I will miss his morning greetings with his tail swooping in circles. I will miss kissing him 100 X a day in the divot between his eyes, I will miss him hogging up the couch and leaving me a tiny spot to sit with his big block head on my lap. He was my treasure, and I will never forget him. Till we meet again sweet boy. ♥️”

THANK YOU from the bottom of our heart, Joanne and Rish, for giving Chance such a magnificent life. We will always be grateful to you ♥️
