Fenway Has a New Home!
Fenway, formerly Silverback, was so distraught at being dumped at the shelter that he was said to be “emotionally shut-down” and could not be evaluated or coaxed out of his kennel. and being determined “unadoptable”, ended up on death row.
This story broke our heart and caught the attention of one amazing couple from MA who were so determined to save him, they drove all the way to NYC to pick him up!
But Silverback could not leave the shelter without being neutered first and so, unfazed, they drove all the way back the very next day to get him after his neuter! Since being released from prison, Silverback, now called FENWAY, is a completely different dog and is loving, playful and happy.
We couldn’t be more happy that this little guy has new life at the age of five. Thank you Marita and Arthur!
Uno (aka Bruno)
From Uno's new Mom:
Just got Bruno home :-) Would like to call him Uno, shelter says he was the first rescue of 2014 and on New Year's Day so the name seems appropriate and friendlier.
Have introduced him one at a time to all of my dogs, he shows no aggression, tails are all wagging, normal butt sniffing. He sits and gives paw on command. I have been given pain meds for him for the next 3 days and doxy for the kennel cough. I gave him both as soon as we got home. He has not barked once yet..
Lovable and playful, a tough player though, as most pits seem to be. He is still coughing slightly but not bad, doesn't seem to have any nasal discharge. Seems house broken as well, he went to mark one spot and I told him no, he stopped and went to the door.
He's a really good dog, so far so good :-) Thank you for helping me save him !!
I have posted freedom pics on FB on my page and I will email them to you.
Happy New Year!
Ryley (aka LISA)
Ryley (aka LISA) is doing wonderful! She is so much a part of our family, it’s hard to imagine how our life was without her. She is learning so much and is such a joy. Bailey (our other dog) and Ryley get along so well, the first night with her home they were snuggling together.
She loves going for walks (still learning to walk without pulling) so on the positive side my arms are getting a work out. Lol. She loves jumping, running, playing in the yard and sleeping with my grandson Peyton. She is just amazing with him and other children ( so much for the stereo type of the bad pit bull).
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do for all these wonderful animals there really are no words for me to express how much I admire what you do.
I also want to tell you what a joy it has also been for myself to have met with Nina, Ryley’s foster mom. Without her, Lisa/Ryley would not have been saved. I feel like I have a new angel in my family, and I try to email or send pictures at least once a week to her. It is also a special person who can open her home and be bonded with them and keep them safe until there forever home is found.
I am truly grateful to both of you for allowing Ryley to be apart of my family.
