2020 Rescues

All of this is possible because of YOU! Please consider donating to help us continue our lifesaving mission!

Hound in 2020

In 2020, saving Hound and JellyBean from the “at-risk” list at the city shelter was only the first hurdle. We needed to find the right foster and training program to help them overcome their fears and past traumas, have them both neutered, and then provide this important eye surgery that impacted their future quality of life.

All of these challenges come with a financial cost and we rely on your donations to provide these beautiful creatures with everything they need to have the best life possible. They deserve a chance at health and happiness but we need your help to ensure we can provide that for them.

Slade’s rescue

Discarded and abused former bait dog, Slade, arrived at the NYCACC in 2018. But miraculously, despite all he'd endured at just 2 years old, the shelter volunteers were amazed at how sweet and loving he was after the horrible treatment he'd received from humans.

AmsterDog was able to get him to safety and he's come a long way since then. He spent time briefly in a home being nurtured and nursed back to health, and then went to a live-in training facility to help him work through the emotional effects of the abuse and physical therapy to deal with the cognitive effects.

But the trauma he endured has lasting effects on his physical health. He has lost sight in one eye and has had surgery on his paw. Then, he also needed extensive intestinal surgery due to a perforation. Thanks to donations from our supporters, we were able to get Slade his life saving surgery and finally find him a furever home!
